Previously only released on VHS in 1995, Discovery: Live in Rio 1994 marks the first time fans can experience this iconic Pet Shop Boys concert on both DVD and CD. Filmed in December 1994 by Brazilian director Roberto Berliner and a local TV crew, the show captures the duo’s energetic performance in front of a passionate Rio de Janeiro audience during their first-ever visit to Brazil.

The setlist features a mix of Pet Shop Boys classics such as “West End Girls,” “Suburbia,” “Being Boring,” “Go West,” “Rent,” and “Always on My Mind.” The performance also includes creative mashups like “One in a Million”/“Mr Vain” and “Left to My Own Devices”/“Rhythm of the Night,” plus a lively cover of Blur’s “Girls and Boys.”

Distinct from the theatrical tours of 1989 and 1991, Discovery reflects the more vibrant and spontaneous spirit of the Very and Disco 2 era. Influenced by the upbeat atmosphere of New York’s Sound Factory Bar, this two-hour show sees the Pet Shop Boys joined by four dancers, backing vocalist Katie Kissoon, and two Latin percussionists—delivering a celebration of dance, pop, and freedom like never before.
